Before Victor Frankenstein made the creature he was cocky about what he knew and what he could learn to create the creature. Frankenstein believed that he could learn everything that god knows. Before he went off to ingolstadt he mother died, but spent little time with them before he left. To me this is a warning of what is about to come in the future after he makes the creature, this event is foreshadowing that after he makes the creature that all members of his family will die. “we had still duties which we ought to perform” in this quote Victor Frankenstein is stating that even though his mother died he still wanted get away and study. Frankenstein was so passionate about making this creature, he didn’t think if it meant anything that; his sister had scarlet fever but his mother died.
When frankenstein goes off to ingolstadt and he completely forgets about his life outside of the lab making the creature, and he forgets about his family back in geneva. Frankenstein is hard at work studying and impressing the professors but in his private apartment he starts working away at the creature. He becomes ill and obsessed with devoting all his time to this creature, barely going outside, and not studying. Afte many months spend in his apartment, the creature is alive. Victor is horrified by the looks of the creature and runs away to sleep away his disappointment. Frankenstein has a disturbing dream about his sister and wakes up to the creature looming over him. Frankenstein runs away and the goes into a full blow breakdown for a few months.
The last key moment in frankenstein’s life if when he begins to make the second creature. Victor realises that to create another creature he will need to travel to London to acquire more knowledge. He begins to be once again engulfed into his creation, as he just wants the creature off his back and leave him alone. Victor frankenstein has a realisation that creating a second creature is a bad idea since the first one didn’t turn out that great and most of his family is dead. He stops making the female creature and he get a visit from the original creature. The creature threatens that on his wedding day when victor will get married to Elisabeth, that the creature will kill her. So victor runs away to an island but in the meantime the creature has killed Henry, his travelling buddy. Upholding his blackmail the creature then kills Elizabeth and then the father dies from a broken heart and so then his mother, his brother, his best friend, his sister/wife and his father are killed.
